Guardian Biotechnologies Inc. is developing a vaccine for the treatment of coccidiosis in poultry. Coccidiosis is a serious disease caused by certain family of parasites and cause severe damage on the intestines to reduce weight gain, delay maturity and often cause death causing close to $1.5 billion (US) of economic losses annually. Work is significantly advanced toward developing a vaccine that provides a broad spectrum protection against coccidiosis, cost advantages over vaccines produced from live parasites and existing drug therapies, and a way to address drug resistance.
